I am a Washington State licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) trained in providing counseling to adults and families. I am known for my genuineness, strong collaboration, communication, clinical and treatment planning skills. For the past six years, I have worked with clients to help them build richer, more meaningful lives, develop a sense of purpose and fulfillment and find motivation and inspiration from deep within. I am passionate about working with clients who are impacted by adverse life events and are seeking support in managing transitions, stress, grief, loss, depression and anxiety.
As an LMFT, I am trained in family systems and psychotherapy such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Solution-Focused Therapy. For instance, I use tools from CBT to help clients explore helpful and unhelpful thoughts, feelings, behaviors and patterns and work with you to build your strengths and learn new approaches. With ACT, I use a range of experiential exercises and values-guided behavioral interventions that are tailored to meet your needs. There is an emphasis on values, forgiveness, acceptance, compassion, living in the moment, growth and development. Ultimately, the goal of ACT interventions is to help clients create a rich and meaningful life, while accepting the pain that inevitably goes with it. This therapy is about taking effective action guided by your deepest values and in which you are fully present and engaged. It is only through mindful action that a meaningful life can be created. Of course, there will be all sorts of barriers, in the form of unpleasant and unwanted "private experiences" (thoughts, images, feelings, sensations, urges, and memories) as you attempt to create a meaningful life. ACT reaches mindfulness skills as an effective way to handle these private experiences.
I am currently accepting new clients for weekdays and weekends appointment. I offer tele-therapy through HIPPA secure VIDEO-conferencing that requires a computer with a camera/webcam. I also offer phone counseling. Please feel free to contact me for more information. I look forward to answering your questions. Once you decide I am a good fit and can help with your therapeutic goals, we will discuss and begin the therapy process.
