I spent most of my childhood in State College Pennsylvania, the home of the Penn State Nittany Lions. I am an avid skier and former national level competitive alpine ski racer, as well as a runner and mountain biker. I lived and worked in rural Ecuador and Whitefish Montana after college. My husband, Peter O’Connell, grew up in Portland Oregon and attended Gonzaga University in Spokane Washington. While we moved from Montana back to the East Coast for my medical training, we moved back to the Northwest permanently to incorporate my professional and our personal interests. I have had invaluable experiences working in Uganda, Ecuador, India and Sweden, and hope to continue to incorporate international humanitarian relief into my medical career.
